Member Programs/Fees

In order to partake in any of our member programs, each participant must be a member of South Niagara Canoe Club.  The annual membership fee for the 2015 season is $75.00.  This is to be paid once per year and entitles the member to register and partake in our different member programs and allows each member voting privilages at the club annual general meeting.   To register as a member, complete one of the registration forms below and you will then be taken to our payment page and you can then complete your membership payment and program payment.  Please note the annual membership fee only needs to be paid once per year.

 

Sprint Canoe and Kayak

  • Elementary Paddling (U13) (ages 6-12)
    • This program is an introduction to the sport of sprint canoe and kayak, and is designed for participants of all skill levels.  Athletes will receive on-water coaching and will learn to paddle all sprint boats.  No prior paddling experience is necessary.  Over the course of the season athletes are encouraged to enter age class races.  Paddlers are required to wear a certified PFD. 


             Spring (2015): (2x/wk) -  Tues & Thurs 5:00-6:00pm  (May 11 - June 25)*         Fee:  $65.00

             Summer (2015): (2x/wk) - (July - August) days and times TBA            Fee:  $65.00

             Fall (2015): (2x/wk) - (September - October) days and times TBA       Fee:  $145.00  

             Winter:  T.B.A.

  • Developmental Paddling (U25) (ages 13-24)
    • This program is designed for athletes of all abilities.  The focus is on learning to paddle and compete in sprint canoes and kayaks.  Beginners and experienced paddlers are welcome to participate during the Spring and Summer sessions.  The fall session is for experienced paddlers only. 

              

             Spring (2015): (4x/wk) Mon, Wed, Fri 4:30-6:00pm, Sat 8:00-10:00am (May 4- June 30)*        Fee:  $190.00

             Summer (2015): (4x/wk) days and times TBA (July - Aug.)     Fee:  $190.00

             Fall (2015): (5x/wk)  days and times TBA (Sept. - Oct.)         Fee:  $230.00

Dragon Boat

  • Hope Floats - Women's Crew  
    • This program focuses on camaraderie and fun. Some of the paddlers in this crew are survivors of cancer.  Please email for specifics related to when you can safely join post-treatment.


            Spring (2105):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (May 4- June 29)*     Fee:  $35.00

            Summer (2015):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (July - Sept)*     Fee:  $45.00

  • Canal Dragons - Mixed Crew - Formerly known as "The Reckies"
    • This program is designed for adults of all ages and abilities.  We will work on stroke technique and some fundamentals of paddling.  We focus on fun and fitness in the boat.

               

            Spring (2015):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (May 4- June 29)*     Fee:  $35.00

            Summer (2015):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (July - Sept)*     Fee:  $45.00

            Fall (2015):  (1x/wk) - TBA      Fee:  $25.00

            Winter:   TBA

  • Competitive-Warlocks
    • This program runs 3 times a week on the water with an expectation of off water training as well during the spring and summer.  This is a program for people who really want to race in dragon boats, and a very good fitness level is required.  Fall programming is once a week, and new paddlers are welcome.

 

              Spring/Summer (2015): (3x/wk) Tues & Thurs, 6:30-8:00pm, Sat 9:00-10:30am (Apr 28 - Aug 29)*     Fee: $225.00

              Fall (2015): (1x/wk) Day and time TBA (Sept - Oct)*          Fee: $65.00

  • Brock Badgers Dragon Boat Club - Competitive Dragon Boating
    • This competitive program is designed for Brock University students interested in training and racing in the sport of Dragon Boat.  This program is offered in collaboration with Brock University Athletics and will allow you to develop your paddling skills and fitness alongside other athletes.  No paddling experience is necessary, but a good level of starting fitness is recommended.  Dragon Boat Canada is supporting this program in order to further develop the Canadian University Racing League.   Please contact us for more information.

Yoga for Paddlers:

  • Wednesdays - April 8- May 27 from 8:00pm-9:00pm (spring session)
  • At the indoor paddle tank in Welland
  • Cost is $45

Register online using either the canoe/kayak or dragon boat registration forms above (you can register for more than one program on the registration form at a time so register for your spring paddling at the same time), you can then pay online or pay by cheque by mailing it to South Niagara Canoe Club-please do not bring your cheque to the class, payment in advance only.


Notes:

  • Racing fees are additional in all instances.
  • The membership fee must be paid once per year.  You must have a valid membership to register for any of our member programs.
  • Every attempt is made to accommodate members, however some programs can only accommodate a limited number of paddlers and can fill up.  Members will be accomodated in order of reciept of a completed registration form and payment in full.  SNCC reserves the right to cancel any program.  
  • Registration is not complete until SNCC recieves payment in full for membership and program and registration information.
  • SNCC also reserves the right to change programing times.
