Sprint Canoe and Kayak

  • Elementary Paddling (U13) (ages 6-12)
    • This program is an introduction to the sport of sprint canoe and kayak, and is designed for participants of all skill levels.  Athletes will receive on-water coaching and will learn to paddle all sprint boats.  No prior paddling experience is necessary.  Over the course of the season athletes are encouraged to enter age class races.  Paddlers are required to wear a certified PFD. 


             Spring: (2x/wk) -Tues/Thurs 5:30-6:30pm (May 12 - June 30)   Fee:  $115.00

             Summer: (2x/wk) -Tues/Thurs 5:30-6:30pm (July 2 - August 27)   Fee:  $150.00

             Fall: (2x/wk) - Thurs 5:00-6:00pm, Sat 10:00-11:00am (September 8 - October 29)   Fee:  $115.00  

             Winter:  T.B.A.

              

  • Developmental Paddling (U25) (ages 13-24)
    • This program is designed for athletes of all abilities.  The focus is on learning to paddle and compete in sprint canoes and kayaks.  Beginners and experienced paddlers are welcome to participate during the Spring and Summer sessions.  The fall session is for experienced paddlers only. 

              

             Spring: (4x/wk) Mon, Wed, Fri 5:00-6:30pm, Sat 9:00-10:30am (May 5 - June 30)

                   Fee:  $175.00

             Summer: (4x/wk) Mon, Wed, Fri 5:00-6:30pm, Sat 9:00-10:30am (July 1 - Aug. 31)

                   Fee:  $225.00

             Fall: (5x/wk) Mon, Wed, Fri 4:30-6:00pm, Tues 6:15-7:30am, Sat 8:00-10:00am (Sept. 8 - Oct. 30)

                   Fee:  $225.00

             Winter:  (4x/ wk) Mon, Wed, Fri 4:30-6:00pm, Sat 8:00-10:00am (Nov. 3 - Apr. 28)

                    Fee:  $400.00  (does not include Galaxy Fitness membership)

Dragon Boat

  • Hope Floats - Women's Crew  
    • This program focuses on camaraderie and fun. Some of the paddlers in this crew are survivors of cancer.  Please email for specifics related to when you can safely join post-treatment.


            Spring:  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:45-7:45pm (May 4 - June 29)*     Fee:  $80.00

            Summer:  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:45-7:45pm (July 1 - Sept 2)*     Fee:  $80.00

            Fall:  (1x/wk) - Saturday, 11:00am-12:00pm (Sept 19 - Oct 17)*       Fee:  $20.00

            Winter: (2x wk) - Mon and Wed, 7:00-8:00pm (Jan 5 - Mar 30, no session Feb 16)      Fee:  $130.00   (at indoor paddle tank)

  • Canal Dragons - Mixed Crew - Formerly known as "The Reckies"
    • This program is designed for adults of all ages and abilities.  We will work on stroke technique and some fundamentals of paddling.  We focus on fun and fitness in the boat.

               

            Spring:  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:45-7:45pm (May 4 - June 29)*     Fee:  $80.00

            Summer:  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:45-7:45pm (July 1 - Sept 2)*     Fee:  $80.00

            Fall:  (1x/wk) - Saturday, 11:00am-12:00pm (Sept 19 - Oct 17)*       Fee:  $20.00

  • Competitive-Warlocks
    • This program runs 3 times a week on the water with an expectation of off water training as well during the spring and summer.  This is a program for people who really want to race in dragon boats, and a very good fitness level is required.  Fall programming is once a week, and new paddlers are welcome.

 

              Spring/Summer: (3x/wk) Tues and Thurs 6:30-8:00pm, Sat 9:00-10:30am (May 4 - Aug. 30)*     Fee: $365.00

              Winter:  (1x /wk) - Sat 9:00-10:30am,  (Dec 6 - Apr 18, no sessions Dec 27, Jan 10, Feb 7, Mar 7)      Fee:  $130.00

  • Brock Badgers Dragon Boat Club - Competitive Dragon Boating
    • This competitive program is designed for Brock University students interested in training and racing in the sport of Dragon Boat.  This program is offered in collaboration with Brock University Athletics and will allow you to develop your paddling skills and fitness alongside other athletes.  No paddling experience is necessary, but a good level of starting fitness is recommended.  Dragon Boat Canada is supporting this program in order to further develop the Canadian University Racing League.   Please contact us for more information.

Canoe Kids Camp (Ages 6-13)

  • Is a week long program designed to introduce the sport of sprint canoe and kayak to young boys and girls.  Through a fun filled environment and a variety of both on-land and on-water activities, kids will learn boat safety, paddling fundamentals and skills.  This program is intended for beginner paddlers, however participants must be confident in the water.  A PFD must be worn at all times.  Participants are encouraged to bring thier own PFD.  Each week is limited to 10 paddlers only, so register early so your child doesn't miss out!!!    Please note registrations will only be processed once SNCC has recieved a completed registration and full payment (2 step process).

Notes:

  • Racing fees are additional in all instances.
  • Every attempt is made to accommodate members and campers, however some programs can only accommodate a limited number of paddlers and can fill up.  Members and Campers will be accomodated in order of reciept of a completed registration form and payment in full.  SNCC reserves the right to cancel any program.
